DEAP Student Advisory Board

The DEAP Student Advisory Board serves as a vital platform for students to voice their opinions, concerns, and suggestions regarding the Diversity Enrichment & Achievement Program (DEAP) at Indiana University Indianapolis. Comprising a diverse group of dedicated students, the board plays a crucial role in shaping the DEAP experience by providing valuable insights and feedback on various program initiatives, events, and policies. Through open dialogue and collaboration, board members actively contribute to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all DEAP scholars. Their input helps to ensure that DEAP remains responsive to the needs of its student community and continues to enhance its programs and services to promote student success and well-being.

  • Networking opportunities with fellow Scholars and program leaders
  • Personal and professional development

Responsibilities

  • Serve as representative for respective program tier
  • Provide perspective on topics relevant to programming, events, tier needs, etc.
  • Collaboratively plan 1 social event each semester
  • Attend at least 1 DEAP workshop/event a semester
  • Attend a monthly 1-hour student advisory board meeting
  • Commit to serving on the Board for a full academic year (August – May)
