Where DEAP students live and learn

DEAP House is a residential-based living learning community where DEAP students live and learn alongside each other. In order to be considered to live in the community, you must first complete the process for becoming a DEAP student, which includes participation in an intake meeting and our annual induction ceremony. 

Personal Growth & Leadership

The DEAP House aims to encourage holistic personal growth by providing and supporting initiatives that support the identity and leadership development of each resident.

Cultural Affirmation & Identity Development

The DEAP House aims to foster a safe and nurturing environment to encourage residents to critically reflect on and explore their personal identity and culture.

Requirements

The requirements are founded on research-based practices and principles and are expected of each DEAP House resident to live in the community and to receive the $2500 housing stipend:

  • Be a first year DEAP Scholar
  • Participate in DEAP Pinning Ceremony
  • Attend 2 DEAP Power Hours each semester
  • Attend 2 DEAP House specific events each semester
  • Enroll in the DEAP House first year seminar course
  • Pass your first-year seminar course
